Dr. Mohammed Rahif Hakmi
Dr. Hakmi is the Chairman of Armada Group which is an entity of Multi-Billion portfolio of facilities in Healthcare, Wellness & Spa, Real Estate Development, Contracting & Facilities Management, and Hospitality. It is a self described high quality community of Medical Services, Well being, Leisure, Project Development & Maintenance, and a luxurious dynamic environment of Hotel Facilities & Entertainment.
He was educated at King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah, qualifying in Civil Engineering in 1985 and graduated with an average GPA of 4.2 (92%). He was awarded a Ph.D for his research into the Local Buckling of Sandwich Panels in 1989 from the University of Salford, Manchester,UK. Then Dr. Hakmi worked at the University of Salford where he had conducted a series of research expanding into the fire and blast behaviour of composites.
From 1985 until 1994, he worked in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Salford , gaining a Research Fellowship.
Dr. Hakmi developed a design method, which had been adopted in the European recommendations for the design of sandwich panels (CIB, 2000). He was involved in the Marine-tech North West programme on cost-effective use of fibre reinforced composites offshore.
From early 1990 to 2000, Dr Hakmi had been involved in the It industry, involved in the distribution and wholesale of hardware and semi-conductors with additional interests in Real Estate, and in property.
In early 2000 he established a real estate development business in the UAE, which has been grown to become one of the major names in the real estate in the UAE. Today Armada Group, has an assets in excess of one billion US Dollars.
In 2006, Dr. Hakmi was elected a Board Member on Syrian Business Council (SBC), Dubai, serving until Today. In 2009 he chaired a committee in charge of the revision of article of association and reported its finding to the board which later was adopted by the AGM. In 2010. He was elected in 2011 as Vic-Chairman of the Council.
